5 4. Harmony: the progression
You’ll have: a Pad track on a warm Drift preset playing Fm7 – Db – Ab – Eb, one chord per bar, sitting under everything.
5.1 Say
Add a Pad on Drift with a warm preset. Play Fm7, Db, Ab, Eb — one bar each, close voicings around C4. Keep the velocities gentle. Turn it down a little and send some of it to the reverb.
5.2 What Claude does
Browses Drift’s presets and picks a pad, creates the track and the clip, writes the four chords as close voicings, then sets the track’s level and its send to the A Reverb return.
5.3 What you’ll see in Live
A Pad track with a clip of four stacked chords — four voices each, sixteen notes — its fader below the others, its Send A knob turned up. Play everything together.
5.4 Check
Ask: “how many notes are in the pad clip?” — 16. Then “undo the last thing” and watch what comes back. Two things may happen: the names and colours you asked for in one go return together, but a volume or send change always undoes on its own. That’s Live’s rule, and Claude should say which is which rather than promise one undo.
Track names, colours and time signatures can be grouped into one ⌘Z. Tempo, volume, mute and any device knob always get their own step. Ask Claude “what will undo do?” if it matters — it knows the rule.
